Hi! My name is Ashley and I am a recent graduate of the University of Florida (Go Gators!) with a degree in dietetics. I love to have fun, I love to laugh, and most importantly, I love to eat. Everything about the eating process fascinates me, from growing food to cooking food to developing an entire food culture based on the traditions of home and nation.
For years, I have been collecting recipes. They sit in cookbooks, magazines, journals, and paper stacks all over my room. And now it is time to go through them and pick the winners- the keepers that I (and hopefully you) will make over and over again. Recipes that will be shared with friends and passed down to our children because they are so good.
Most of these dishes aren’t mine, but like any cook, I have my own edits and comments on each recipe. Cooking terminology can be confusing for any recreational chef, so I’ll try to describe each process to the best of my ability. Of course, I can’t ignore my nutrition training, as well as thoughts on body image and food culture, so I have a separate page for that too. Think of this as an online test kitchen for the home cook.
